Episode 114 - Stories of Resilience, Tragedy and Triumph - Dr. Charles Thomas

December 1st, 2017

Show Notes for Dr. Charles Thomas, Jr.

On today’s program, we are going to talk about the ability to “bounce back” from tragedy and failures in life and how to ask for help if you need it.  My guest today has written a book called “Breakthrough: Stories of Resilience, Tragedy and Triumph” – help me welcome to the program, Dr. Charles Thomas, Jr, the author of this book.

Dr. Thomas, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule today to visit with us.

Folks, let me tell you a little bit about Dr. Thomas.

Dr. Charles Thomas Jr. is a multi-award winning social entrepreneur, educator, published author, radio personality, and concerned citizen. He has committed himself to service and philanthropic efforts and has varied experiences in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Charles strives to live according to the Renaissance ideal of broad learning and full engagement in life as a demonstration of human potential.

Dr. Thomas earned Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Master of Business Administration, and Doctoral degrees. He is from Flint, MI  (just down M-59 a bit from home town of Port Huron, Michigan) and now lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and children.

Ok…Dr. Thomas, other than that brief bio I just provided, tell us,

WHO IS Dr. Charles Thomas, Jr.?

In your book, you say that people should embrace the trails and tribulations that befall us. Explain what you mean by that…

You encourage people to “smile, have fun, live, learn and enjoy life as much as possible…” How can people who are going through a dark time in their life do that – or do that effectively?

One of the things I loved, and I would like you to explain it to our listeners, you said we “should not allow who we are to stop us from being who we want to be…”  I loved that statement…can you explain how someone can do that?

Now, these stories are all TRUE stories of real people who have experienced some sort of trials and setbacks in life, correct?  OK – how did you come across these people and were you able to verify their stories?

Explain how a persons “mindset, purpose and inspiration” can be changed by reading these stories in your book…how can they do that?

Explain what you mean by the “power of resilience?”

How can people learn to handle failure and the word “no?”

You encourage people to help others – and call it “servant leadership.”  Can you explain that?

How can a leader, who is going through a tough time, humble themselves and ask for help?

If someone wanted to get in touch with you or ask you a question – maybe to do an interview such as this – how can they do that?

Dr. Thomas, I thank you so much for taking the time to visit with us. I know our listeners have heard several valuable take tips from everything you have provided today. Thank you again…

Episode 111 Show Notes for Randy Crane Interview pt 2

Today I want to introduce you to someone who has taken preaching about God’s Love to an entirely different level…I am so fascinated by what my guest has done…I just had to have him on the program today to share with you…

His ministry is called – Faith and The Magic Kingdom…

Does that sound like something you hear about at Disney Land or Disney World…well, you’re close…

Randy Crane has a ministry called “Faith and the Magic Kingdom” and he is here to tell us all about it today!  Glory to God!

Randy Crane is a “Magic Kingdom” expert, pastor, speaker and life coach passionate about equipping Christians to reach beyond what they have previously experienced and build a God-given identity and purpose. He is the founder of Leaving Conformity Coaching and the Leaving Conformity Coaching systems and uses his gifting as well as his training as an ordained minister in Church Ministry to serve client nationally. For more than two decades, Randy has been leading individuals and teams into a greater joy and child-like appreciation of the world around them. He uses his gift of writing, speaking and transforming lives through the “Disney” experience to equip you to do the following:

  • Crystalize your understanding of who God is, your Kingdom Identity in Him, and what success truly means for you.
  • Connect with your God-given (not man-created) purpose and value.
  • Develop a deeper, richer understanding of your strongest personality traits, as well as the incredible talents and passions you have within you.
  • Become more balanced in 7 key areas of life.
  • Cultivate more peace of mind and focused energy.
  • Use a simple and effective tool for making decisions to ensure your choices align with your unique Kingdom Identity, life mission, purpose, values, and goals.

And to help you establish a confident approach to your future.

Let’s talk about your book: “Faith and the Magic Kingdom”

Now, Disneyland is all about story, and God is a God of story––and of visual aids. “Faith and the Magic Kingdom” combines your favorite Disney theme park attractions (and more) with God's story of love, turning the park into a 3-dimensional parable. Learn to see Disneyland in a whole new way while you experience true abundant life in Christ.

“Faith and the Magic Kingdom” will refresh you, challenge you, and encourage you to be the person God made you to be.” – Explain what you mean by that…

Which stories in your book seem to resonate the most with readers and are the most impactful?

How are you handling the changes at park, especially with Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge (aka Star Wars Land) coming in 2019?

How would you like to see people use the book?

Have you reached out to Disney at all – for their opinion?

What other books do you have in your mind right now?

What does the future look like for “Disney based Faith books?”

If our listeners want to reach out to you, ask a question or perhaps have you come speak or do an interview such as this…how can they contact you?

Episode 108 - Has American Christianity Failed - Bryan Wolfmueller - pt 2

November 23rd, 2017

Episode 108 Show Notes for Pastor Bryan Wolfmueller Interview

On today’s program, we are going to talk with Pastor Bryan Wolfmueller about his new book, “Has American Christianity Failed?”  Now, if you have been following me for any length of time, you know this is something, that I could say, is “near and dear to may heart.” Amen. I’ve been speaking this for several years now…and we can see the “fruits the failure” of American Christianity on the news almost every night…

In his book, Pastor WolfMueller states that:

American Christianity teaches the centrality of the individual - my will, my experiences, my decision, my heart, my work, and my dedication. Yet we couldn't be more unaware that Christ and His saving and comforting work are being lost. Our minds and hearts are captivated, in some way, by those who often preach the Christian instead of Christ.

Pastor Wolfmueller sounds the alarm against the false teaching and dangerous practices of Christianity in America. He offers a beautiful alternative: the sweet savor of the Gospel, which brings us to the real comfort, joy, peace, freedom, and sure hope of Christ….And it's for you.

Welcome to the program, Pastor Bryan Wolfmueller…Pastor, Welcome!

What are the FOUR Theological Marks of American Christianity?

Let’s shift gears a little bit…

Explain to our listeners what “Lutheran Theology” means…

This Marks the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, right? Explain what that means to you and what it should symbolize to Americans in particular.

There is a clear distinction between the “law and the Gospel of Jesus” – can you explain to our listeners how you see it?

LIGHTENING ROUND:

How can we know there is a hell?

In your opinion, what is the #1 demonic force in the world today?

The Last Question.

Episode 106 - 7 Reasons Most People Miss Out On Heaven - Roger Lambert pt 2

November 21st, 2017

Episode 106 Show Notes for Roger Lambert Interview

Today, I want to introduce to you a subject that is thought provoking – and talked about “around the fringes” – but rarely confronted head on.  If it is confronted head on – then it is usually considered “too pushy” on behalf of Christianity…

But our guest today has written a book that will provide a “nice” way to introduce the topic…it will provide the reader some of the answers to their questions…and that topic is:

Are you Going to Heaven or Hell?  It’s a pretty straight forward type of question…but one that many Christians have a hard time engaging in a forthright discussion about. Mainly, because they are not “comfortable” in their own salvation…let alone being able to defend it from questions others may have…

Roger Lambert has written a book called, “7 Reasons People Miss Out on Heaven” and this book will give the answers to these questions…questions many Christians struggle with themselves…in addition to the vast majority of people out there that ARE missing out on going to Heaven because they do not believe…

Roger’s book will go into questions like:  Does everyone go to Heaven? Why was hell created in the first place? Why were the borders of hell expanded? And – this is a needful question – How should we handle hypocrites in the church?  Amen!

Now, let me tell you a little bit about our guest, Roger Lambert… Roger has been legally blind for over forty years, yet he has been a basketball coach, an ordained minister, a motivational speaker, and an avid student of the Bible.

He loves to teach, whether it is fundamentals of basketball, or biblical principles. For 27 years, he has coached various levels of boys and girls basketball, from elementary to high school, in his hometown of Allegan, Michigan.

Roger is passionate about showing others how to inherit everlasting life. AMEN. He studied the Bible at Southwestern Assembly of God, and Grand Rapids Baptist College…and he is with us today on the broadcast!

Join me in welcoming to the program – Roger Lambert!  Roger, thank you taking the time out of your busy schedule to join us today…

Is all forms of Worship acceptable to God?   Why is that?

In your book, as I mentioned in my opening remarks, the question, “Why was hell created?”  Hell is a real place, correct?  I often ask my guest…”How can we know for sure there IS a hell?  How do you respond to that?

Can you explain “Why were the borders of hell were expanded?”  Can you expound on that?

There is a very clear danger in judging others, correct?  Well then, how SHOULD we handle hypocrites in Church?

Some people believe that “God is a good God and He will not let anyone go to hell…He will just have different “levels” of Heaven for each person…”  I don’t subscribe to that – and I believe you do not either…so answer the question that comes up – “Does everyone go to Heaven?”

LIGHTENING ROUND:

Why do some people receive miracles and others do not?

If Jesus paid the price for all sins for all time (past, present and future), why can’t we just live like we want if we have asked Him to forgive us?

Why does the pastor keep talking about tithes all of the time?

But surely God knows I can’t afford 10% - the other people can pay it, but God ‘knows my heart.’

In your opinion what is the number one demonic force today?

Last Question

Roger, I appreciate you taking the time to join us today…Folks, I highly recommend Roger’s book. It will make a great addition to your reading schedule and I believe, once you are finished with it – PASS IT ALONG…bless someone else with this Wisdom…Amen…As a matter of fact – BUY them their own book and bless them…Amen!

I’m going to have a link to Roger’s book in the show notes – linking you directly to his book on Amazon.

Roger, if anyone would like to reach out to you, ask a question, maybe do an interview like this with you…how can they contact you?
